Shaping the Next Generation of Black Belts

Meet our Owner, Director, and Head Instructor Mr. Joe Boone! Mr. Boone, a 6th Degree Black Belt, has been teaching with National Karate for over 20 years, and running schools for over 10 years. He first earned his black belt in 2001 at the original Brooklyn Park school. In his early competitive career, he was most widely known for his creative bo forms with his brother on Team Boone, and point sparring with team Straight Up. Since 2013 he has been focusing on his Kickboxing and MMA career with a combined record of 11-1. While he loved traveling and competing, his passion now is in his students. Many of Brooklyn Park’s black belts are top ranked in the region and the country.

Mr. Boone prioritizes spending time with his three kids, plus his pup, Frank. As a long term National Karate Instructor, Mr. Boone has had the opportunity to tie on hundreds of Black Belts for his students over the years. About his own experience, Mr. Boone says “Martial Arts has always been my passion and helping other form that passion keeps me looking forward to teaching each day” – Joe Boone.
