Michael Sodergren

John-Worley

Michael Sodergren enrolled in the Roseville National Karate in 1999. After training a year he decided to pursue breakdancing.  He competed throughout the midwest, taught locally and co-founded a hip hop dance company. It would be six years later untill he returned to finish what he had started. Michael returned to National Karate to complete his black belt training.

After successfully teaching breakdancing throughout the metro area he wanted to see if he could do the same with martial arts.  Michael said, ” I’ve always been surrounded by very talented individuals in breakdancing and martial arts and have had to work very hard to achieve the skill sets that come more naturally for others.  Because I’ve had to learn the hard way and really break down these techniques I know I can help others develop their technique.

Michael was an assistant instructor at the Arden Hills National Karate for 5yrs. Then moved on to be an instructor at the South Minneapolis and Orono location. He’s finally settled at the Chaska location where he has been for the last two years as a head instructor. When Michael is not at the school he enjoys creating short films, acting, and breakdancing.
